Our friends Paul & Barb ended
their east coast sweep in Philly to celebrate New Years Eve with us & of course to get more of the Mummers (what they saw at the wedding wasn't enough). We went to Monk's Cafe for a yummy, but a bit overpriced, dinner and then headed straight to our old standby Mglinchy's (sp?). This is a nice, classic Philly bar- the only major drawback is that you can still smoke inside the bar.. YUCK. It is almost impossible to believe that when I was young you could smoke everywhere- restaurants, bars, shops etc.. We had a nice time & were back home a bit after one- tired & smelling like cigarette smoke.
Unfortunately, all of our cameras were out juice by the time we got to the Mummers so you'll just have to use your imagination about how awesome the parade was- it was ridiculously cold but we made it!
Thanks to Pop-Pop, Mimi, Gigi & Fitzy for watching Lily New Years Eve & Day so we could go have some kid-free fun!!
