Happy New Year (family version)

We kicked off our New Years Eve at the Please Touch Museum's "Countdown to Noon"- probably the BEST kids museum I've ever been too- sorry Boston Children's Museum....Although they are no longer located around the block from Gigi's house, the museum's new location at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park is well worth the short drive- it is AMAZING. Floors & floors of exhibits & each exhibit had a corresponding 'toddlers section' for those in the 3 & under crowd. Some of the highlights- the river room which was water fun- complete with free smocks & dryers, the toddler pond, Alice & Wonderland themed coolness- complete with an astro turf hedge maze, tea party, shrinking room, funny mirrors, sailboats etc. etc. etc. Lily LOVED the city streets exhibit with a hospital, shoe room, grocery store etc. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing Lily with a shopping cart or stroller you have NO idea how into these things she gets- don't even try to take it away from her or stop her from hitting other people- she takes that as a serious affront. Our last stop was upstairs where we played in the space room, looked a mural of Philly, played on a Septa bus, filled a car with gas and got into a meter maid cart. And all of this was BEFORE New Years! We actually counted down until 1pm with real Mummers helping out, a 10 second countdown and then a beach ball drop. It was really fun!
