Apple 'picking' in the snow

The apple trees in Flagstaff are going CRAZY this year- something about this spring- we had an epic pine pollen year. We had two apples on our tree, which Lily picked & ate way early, but will have to wait a few more years for a big event :). Friends of ours down the street invited us to come & pick up some of their ground apples while they were away on vacation & hey, this is AZ & that's the closest we get to a Fall apple picking trip. So the girls & I walked down the street under blue skies, arrived at the house in the middle of a snowstorm & had the quickest apple picking trip ever! It was fun, the apples are great & we were so cold when we got home we 'had' to have a hot cocoa. Gotta say I sure miss fresh apple cider & apple cider donuts, but hanging with my girls during our 1st snow was pretty cool too.
