We spent last weekend in Telluride, CO (supposedly the name for Telluride comes from the fact that in the olden days people described getting to the mining town as "To Hell We Ride") running the Imogene Pass Run. Imogene is a 17.1 mile run from Ouray, CO, up & over a 13,000ft mountain on jeep trails. The last 7 miles of the race are downhill into Telluride. Needless to say, it's a challenge. Tom come in 5th overall in the past & I've always just survived. This year is was all the moms running, while the dad's were on baby duty. My running group, Moms on the Run Flagstaff, trained 8 women- all 1st timers- to run the race & they all finished!
We had a fun weekend of running, fishing, walking around town & riding the gondola. The Sabol's LOVE Telluride. :)
Lily caught her 1st fish! With the help of her friend, Mayla.
She kept thinking this was her 1st gondola ride, but she's actually been on it a few times.
With her buds Angus & Mayla (all the mommies were running)
Amelia trying to be a big girl.
waiting for mommy to finish
This spectator thing is a lot of work!
Yay! finally!
Running into town, 4.5 hours after we started- I used to be able to do it in 4... Oh well, next year!
Getting flowers from Lily, she was bummed I didn't stop, but there was no way I'd be able to start running again if I had.
In Ouray the day after the race- we hit the hot springs & a biergarten.
Another gondola ride.
Trying for a Christmas card.. we didn't get one.. :)
getting psyched for skiing & winter!
