Amelia- Day 1

Visiting after attending a 3rd bday party


After she was born, Tom & I hung out in Labor & Delivery for 2 hours and then moved up to postpartum where we were met by Lynn, our charge nurse & one of my Stroller Strides moms. We all were very quickly asleep by about 4am & stayed that way until 8. After the initial morning flurry of activity, Lily came by to meet 'her baby'. She was SO excited- it was really adorable. We then slept most of the day (all of us) and hosted some friends for a Flyers/Celtics viewing party. Our friend Mariah who was watching Lily brought over a great dinner of yummy pasta, amazing salad, homemade bread & beer! I was in heaven, oh and she brought Lily in her tutu after a birthday party & some amazing birthday cake!
Monday was pretty low key as we just did all we had to do to get discharged from the hospital. I got my clean bill of health as did Amelia- although her pediatrician did notice 'hip clicks' which we will check out again at her 2 week appointment. If they are still there she will need an ultrasound & if they seem hip displaysia she will need to get a harness to keep her hips in place. We are hoping it won't come to that!



On our way home. Lily picked out a whole frog themed set of outfits for the baby.

Lily does not like it when the baby cries & tries to make her happy- it's really cute.

Picture epitomizing how we all felt that afternoon- HUGE thanks to Sarah who saved the day with a HUGE lasagna, dessert & a 6 pack.. We have the best friends!


It's hard to notice here, but Amelia does actually have webbed toes- but only on 1 foot!

We were checked out & on our way to pick up Lily by noon. We got home & all settled in for a nap. Lily had a great time checking out Amelia, holding her & getting adjusted to being a big sister. Things went OK our 1st night- a few attention getting moments by Lily and a massive blowout by Amelia at bedtime made it all the more fun! :)
