The Vacation State..

Loading up the boats at BCMS

Happy to be on the island

There was lots of reading done.... headlamps & all

pretty, rainy sunset

No electricity- it takes about a day for you to stop reaching for the light switch.

Hat ladies

This is the same pool I used to play in when I was Lily's age (and older- I loved that thing!)

Everyone's taken a bath in this tub!

Rowing with me- it took her awhile to warm up to it, but eventually told me to go "faster!"

We had a great time at my Uncle's house on Bremen Long Island, off the coast of Maine. Elmo & Grammy's portable DVD player were key on the long ride up to Maine, but once we left the car all electronics were left behind- and it was back to kid-powered fun.
And we had TONS of it! Highlights include:
- playing on the beach (at low tide)
- collecting hermit crabs off the dock- although she was a bit scared of the 'crabbies'
- wrestling with Thomas
- harassing the dogs
- playing in tide pools
- eating clams & lobsters (Beth & Grammy here- Lily was in bed before dinner was ready that night)
- Lily's 1st cocktail cruise
- Lily's 1st ride in a rowboat
