the start of our bountiful harvest

After all of Tom's hard work- our garden is really starting to crank out some food! This picture is what Lily & I picked yesterday- cukes, eggplant, zucchs, beans & hot peppers. Our tomatoes are just turning yellow/orange so we should again be knee-deep in them in about a week. Our beans (which you may remember TOm & Lily planting a few months ago) are going nuts- I've already filled 3 freezer bags with them & have had green beans with dinner every night.. I love our garden.. We are getting SO many cucumbers this year and if you've never had a cuke straight from a garden you don't even KNOW how good life can be.. :)

And I'm psyched for the grandmas to be here in Oct/Nov again- they can make us some more of the creative, yummy tomato dishes they came up with last year!

I'm super jealous. One of our cherry tomatoes never even bloomed, the other one puts out 3 tiny tomatoes/week, our two squash plants each gave us one squash, and after a gazillion bloom on our tomatillo plant, only 1 fruit. I blame the bees - they obviously aren't doing their job.
